Australia: subsea pipeline system

BJ Process and Pipeline Services (BJ PPS) has announced that it has successfully completed a range of pipeline engineering, testing and pre-commissioning services for Allseas Construction Contractors SA on behalf of pipeline owner Woodside Energy Ltd and its Perseus-over-Goodwyn Project, a natural gas pipeline system. The pipeline is located in water depths of 130m, 20km NE of the Goodwyn Alpha platform and 7.8km NW of the North Rankin Platform in the North West Shelf offshore Dampier, Western Australia. The Perseus-over-Goodwyn Project involves constructing a subsea pipeline system to carry natural gas from the Perseus Field offshore Western Australia to the onshore Karratha Gas Plant. It will bring the Perseus Field into production to fully utilise the Goodwyn platform’s production capacity as it becomes available. The pipeline system will establish a subsea infrastructure system tied back to the Goodwyn platform to access the majority of remaining Perseus reserves. The new pipeline system is scheduled to begin operating in October 2007.
