Technip and Subsea 7 have announced that their Australian entities, Technip Oceania Pty Ltd and Subsea 7 (Australia) Pty Ltd, have been awarded a contract by Woodside Energy Ltd for the Enfield oil development located in the Carnarvon Basin, approximately 40km offshore from the North West Cape, Western Australia, in 400m to 550m water depth. The Joint Venture contract, worth around EUR 75 million, includes the supply and installation of flowlines and risers, electro-hydraulic control umbilicals, transport and installation of a riser column and associated mooring system, transport and installation of subsea manifolds and tie-in and pre-commissioning of the subsea facilities. The field development will include five production wells and six water injection wells for reservoir pressure support with flowlines to a disconnectable Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) facility to receive reservoir fluids (oil, water and gas). Surplus gas not required for fuel will be returned to the reservoir via two gas injection wells. The joint venture team performing the engineering, procurement services, construction supervision and overall project management will be based in Technip Oceania’s offices in Perth, Western Australia. Technip will fabricate flowlines and risers at its manufacturing facilities in Le Trait, France and umbilicals at the manufacturing facility (DUCO) in Newcastle, UK. Technip’s vessel the CSO Venturer will be used for the offshore installation commencing Q4 2005 and will be supported by Subsea 7’s specialist ROV support vessel, Surveyor. This contract award is another significant project to be undertaken in joint venture by Technip and Subsea 7 following the award in 2002 of the Trunkline Expansion Systems Project, North West Australia.
