AusGroup Thailand, a subsidiary of the AusGroup Corporation, a leading Thailand-based construction and fabrication company, has won CUEL’s insulation contract for the INPEX Ichthys LNG project in Darwin, Australia. The approximate value of this award is USD 9.9M.
AGC Thailand is sub-contracted to CUEL, a leading engineering, procurement, fabrication, construction and installation contractor in the Asia Pacific region. AGC Thailand has been contracted for the supply, fabrication and installation of all cryogenic, acoustic and hot insulation works for packages 4, 5 and 6 and pre-assembled modules. The works will be undertaken within CUEL’s Module Fabrication Yard in Laemchabang, Chonburi, Thailand. The mechanically complete pre-assembled modules will be transported directly to Blaydin Point in Darwin, Australia.

The Ichthys LNG project is a joint venture between INPEX and Total, and is approximately 200km off the coast of Western Australia. The gas from the Ichthys field in the Browse basin experiences preliminary processing offshore prior to being exported to the onshore processing facilities in Darwin via a 889 kilometre subsea pipeline. The project is expected to produce around 8.4M t of LNG and 1.6M t of LPG per annum, along with an estimated 100,000 barrels of condensate per day at peak production.
