Aurora Platinum Corp. has initiated a second phase drilling program designed to test its Nickel Lake, copper-nickel-platinum-palladium discovery on the Foy Property Sudbury, Ontario. The company recently announced the discovery of copper-nickel-PGM mineralisation, 400 metres below Nickel Lake, within the Foy Offset Dyke and adjacent to Inco Ltd’s Nickel Lake deposit. Borehole geophysics completed on the discovery hole identified a strong conductor to the north of the sulphide zone intersected in the drilling. The Nickel Lake mineralisation is open both up-dip and down-dip from the drill intersection and airborne electromagnetic survey results over this part of the Foy Offset Dyke suggests that this mineralisation extends along strike for approximately 400 metres and is connected at depth to Inco’s Nickel Lake deposit. Drilling to define the extent of the Nickel Lake discovery mineralization will begin next week.
