ASV expands into US, appoints new director

Autonomous Surface Vehicles (ASV) announced the company’s plans to break into the North American Unmanned Marine Systems industry. The move comes as the result of success in the European and Asian markets where ASV has established itself as an unmanned surface vehicle (USV) supplier.

Equipped with the latest advancements in autonomous technology, ASV will look to serve all areas of the US USV market. ASV currently provides unmanned systems to international Defence, Oil and Gas, and Science and Research industries. To aid this transition into the US, ASV appointed Duane Ashton as the director of Unmanned Systems Business Development. Ashton will also work with ASV sister company C&C Technologies. Together, ASV and C&C are leveraging their respective successes in unmanned systems and global survey operations to forge the move into the US Unmanned Systems market.

Ashton recently transitioned from the U.S. Navy’s Unmanned Maritime Systems Program Office. With over 20 years of U.S. Government management experience involving the acquisition, design, operation and maintenance of complex engineering systems, Ashton is expected to bring demonstrated skills in the development, technical support and operational analysis of unmanned maritime vehicles.
