Weld overlay cladding specialist Arc Energy Resources has shipped its first direct export order to Iran since appointing Tehran-based Pardiskeyan Co Ltd as its agent in the country. The order for the supply and cladding of 148 flanges and 28 pipes was placed by multi-discipline engineering company Machine Sazi Arak (MSA), and is believed to be destined for South Pars in southern Iran for phases 6, 7 and 8 of the largest gas field in the world. Sales director Mr Alan Brown says this order, valued at over GBP 200,000, was significant as it was the first from its agent in Iran and the first to be received direct from an Iranian company. Dr. Babak Mohammadi, GM of Pardiskeyan Co. adds that, as well as the order for phases 6, 7 and 8, Arc Energy is currently supplying a further order for phases 9 and 10. Arc Energy arranged the manufacture of pipe lengths from 1m to 4.5m, and flanges in various sizes from 2in to 24in; through companies in the UK and Germany. All the components were produced from SA350 carbon steel and the majority were then clad by Arc Energy with a 3mm coating of 316L stainless steel. Arc Energy project managed the whole order to MSA’s specification and shipped it in two batches over a period of several weeks to meet a tight delivery schedule.
