The Beijing Research Institute of Anshan Iron and Steel Group developed Ti60 high-temperature titanium alloy, the first industrial-grade ingot weighing 3 tons.
The composition of Ti60 material is extremely complex, containing a variety of elements with high melting points, difficult to melt and easy to segregate, so it is very difficult to control the vacuum melting. To meet the development needs of high-end titanium materials, the special titanium material team of Beijing Institute of Vanadium and Titanium of Anshan Iron and Steel Group takes Ti60 high-temperature titanium alloy as the research and development focus, and carries out technological breakthroughs. The first 3 tons of Ti60 high-temperature titanium ingot of heavy industry grade of Angang Group was successfully trial-produced.
The successful preparation of industrial-grade Ti60 high-temperature titanium alloy ingot has expanded the space for the development of high-end titanium material of Anshan Iron and Steel Group. In the next step, the team will continue to strengthen innovation efforts, research and manufacture more high-end titanium materials, and promote the transformation and upgrading of Angang Titanium alloy industry.
