On 24 October the Surface Engineering Association held a Gala Dinner and Awards Presentation at the House of Lords. Prior to the event, Anopol, a company of Birmingham offering electropolishing, pickling, passivating and cleaning treatments for stainless steel, nickel and nickel alloys, had been informed that their entries, under the headings “Marketing” and “Quality”, had been selected as finalists. That night, the Winning Award for Marketing was presented by Lord Hoyle of Warrington to Anopol’s managing director John Swain.
