Andritz has received another large order from China for its Rolling Mills and Strip Processing Lines Business Area. The Taigang Group placed an order with Andritz to supply the world’s largest annealing and pickling line for cold-rolled strip. The plant will have an annual capacity of 500,000 tonnes and will be installed at Taiyuan Iron and Steel Co. Ltd, Taiyuan Shanxi, China. Last year, Andritz received an order from Taigang for a hot-rolled stainless strip pickling line. Acting as general contractor for the annealing and pickling line, the Andritz Group will have overall responsibility for engineering, delivery, and start-up for the machines and plants to be supplied. The mechanical equipment will be provided by Sundwig GmbH, Hemer, Germany, which is part of the Andritz Rolling Mills and Strip Processing Lines Business Area; the pickling section will be supplied by Andritz AG, Vienna, Austria. Equipment delivery is scheduled for the spring of 2005; the first strip is planned to be produced on 30 January 2006.
