Ancon is pleased to announce the appointment of Peter McDermott as Group Managing Director, following the retirement of Stuart Maxwell.
Peter, who has been with Ancon for 30 years and Group Operations Director for the past 19 years, brings significant leadership experience and a deep understanding of the company to the role.
He was a driving force in the development and implementation of the business’s successful strategy to diversify from its traditional UK focus on masonry fixings into the global construction accessories business it is today. Ancon now operates from several locations in the UK, Europe, Middle East, Australia and New Zealand, with a truly international distribution network.
He has played a pivotal role in developing and sustaining a culture of operational and commercial excellence that has led Ancon to receive Queen’s Awards for Enterprise in both the Innovation and International Trade categories, underlining the company’s world-class credentials.
Peter has a first-class honours degree in Engineering and an MBA from Sheffield Business School. He is a Director of the British Stainless Steel Association (BSSA), the body set up to promote and support the use of stainless steel across a wide range of industry sectors.
