AMETEK Specialty Metal Products (SMP) appointed new operations directors for its Hamilton Precision Metals and Reading Alloys business units. Michael P. Royer has been named director of operations for Hamilton Precision Metals, Lancaster, Pennsylvania, while J. Frank Bologa joins AMETEK as director of operations for Reading Alloys, Robesonia, Pennsylvania.
Royer is currently director of operations for Reading Alloys, which he joined nearly 15 years ago. He previously served as quality manager. In his new role, he is responsible for manufacturing at Hamilton’s Lancaster facility, reporting to Patrick J. McGeehan, vice president and general manager of AMETEK SMP. Royer holds a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Chemistry from Lebanon Valley College. He also completed the AMETEK Leadership Program at the Center for Creative Leadership in Greensboro, NC.
Replacing him as director of operations at Reading Alloys is J. Frank Bologa, who joins AMETEK from GKN Hoeganaes, where he was operations manager – Melting at its Gallatin, Tennessee, facility. He also held the positions of operations manager – Finishing; annealing manager; packing/blending/shipping manager; operations manager and process engineer at the Gallatin plant. Prior to Hoeganaes, he served as quality manager and process engineer at Advanced Metallurgy. In his new position, Bologa reports to Michael McDermott, division vice president and business unit manager for Reading Alloys.
