Alstom wins Brazilian contract

The Brazilian subsidiary of France’s Alstom Power will supply all the equipment for three small-scale hydroelectric projects that the Brazilian subsidiary of Canada’s Brascan will build in Brazil’s Rio Grande do Sul and Parana states under the terms of a USD 17.4 million contract. Alstom will supply all the equipment and provide related services for the 15mw Salto Natal project and the 16mw Pedrinho project in Parana, and 30mw Passo do Meio project in Rio Grande do Sul. The contract includes generators, turbines, electronic control equipment, substations and all the protection for the projects that will be operated by remote control. All the equipment will be manufactured in Alstom’s Taubate industrial unit in Sao Paulo state.
