Alstom wins boiler renovation contract

Alstom has won a contract valued at approximately EUR 20 million by the Renusagar Power Division of Hindalco Industries Ltd, India. The award is for the renovation and modernisation of two 68MW boilers originally supplied by Alstom in 1967. Under the terms of the contract, the boilers will be upgraded with Alstom technology, including high-performance mills to handle low-grade coals and efficient in-furnace Low NOx burners. In addition, the electrostatic precipitator will be upgraded to limit outlet dust emission to 80 mg/NM3. Upon completion of the work, expected within two years, the performance of both boilers will be improved, with higher capacity and reduced NOx and dust emission levels.
