Alleima’s Freeflex® Core Wins Best Component Award at AWE 2024

At the Appliance & Electronics World Expo (AWE) 2024, Alleima has been honored with the esteemed Best Component Award for its compressor valve steel, Freeflex® Core. This prestigious recognition is reserved for components and materials that significantly elevate the overall performance of products.

Alleima, a global leader in manufacturing high value-added products in advanced stainless steels and special alloys, stands as a top supplier of valve steel for compressors used in various applications including air conditioning equipment, heat pumps, refrigerators, freezers, and clothes dryers.

The latest addition to Alleima’s repertoire, the Freeflex® Core compressor valve steel, is engineered to endure more stringent operating conditions while offering enhanced energy efficiency, potentially leading to substantial CO₂ savings on a global scale.

Between 2012 and 2022, advancements in valve materials, along with improvements in design, strength, and mechanical properties, resulted in an approximately 18% enhancement in the energy efficiency of cooling systems. This achievement translates to CO₂ savings exceeding 21 million tons, equivalent to the output of five modern nuclear power plants (50 TWh).

Launched in 2021, Freeflex® Core serves as a specialized compressor valve steel optimized for air conditioning units, with applicability extending to heat pumps, refrigerators, or nearly any compressor type. Its enhanced fatigue properties are tailored to withstand rigorous operational conditions, essential for the development of more energy-efficient compressors.
