Allegheny Ludlum to replace annealing furnace

Allegheny Ludlum will remove its existing 90 Line Annealing furnace and replace it with a new one. The new strip Catenary Annealing furnace, to be located at the company’s Vandergrift, Pennsylvania, facility, will incorporate the latest technology in high velocity, low NOx burners, lightweight fibre insulation and design modifications to provide for additional line speed. LOI Inc. has been awarded a turnkey contract for this project. Scheduled for installation in June 2001, LOI is having the furnace shop assembled to keep the field time to a minimum.
