AK Steel appointment (4/4)

AK Steel has named John F. Kaloski, 53, Vice President of Operations. Mr Kaloski joined AK Steel in October of 2002 as Director, Operations Technology. He has more than 30 years of experience in the steel industry, including senior management positions in operations, commercial and planning functions. Prior to joining AK Steel, Mr Kaloski was Senior Vice President,Commercial and Planning for National Steel Corp., where he previously had responsibility for National’s Great Lakes and Midwest operations. Prior to National Steel, Mr Kaloski held management positions for US Steel Corp., including as general manager of the Gary, Ind., Works, Mon Valley, Pa., Works and Minnesota ore operations. Mr Kaloski was named “Plant Manager of the Year” in 1996 by the former New Steel magazine for his work at the Mon Valley plant. John Kaloski holds a Bachelor of Science degree in business from the University of Pittsburgh and a Master of Business Administration degree from Robert Morris College.
