Air Products has been selected by Sasol and Qatar Petroleum as the nominated supplier for an oxygen facility and has been awarded a contract by the engineering, procurement and construction contractor, Technip-Coflexip of Italy, to build two 3500 metric ton-per-day air separation plants. These plants will supply oxygen to the world’s largest and most advanced gas-to-liquid (GTL) facility in Qatar owned by ORYX GTL Ltd. The ORYX nominal 34,000 barrel-per-day GTL facility is scheduled to be on-stream in 2005. ORYX GTL Ltd is a joint venture between Sasol Synfuels International PTY Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary of Sasol Ltd, and Qatar Petroleum, based in Ras Laffan Industrial City in Qatar.
