Adey Steel electrification structures for GWEp

Adey Steel has been awarded a contract to supply fabricated overhead line electrification structures to Network Rail for the Great Western Electrification programme (GWEp).

The contract is worth GBP 15M and is expected to continue through to 2017. Adey Steel will look to increase capacity at its production facility by recruiting additional fabricators and welders and by investing in hi-tech equipment and machinery to assist in the efficient delivery of the works to the Network Rail project teams.

Adey Group Managing Director Andrew Adey commented: “The opportunity to work with Network Rail on such a large scale infrastructure projects as GWEp is hugely exciting to our business and provides the grounding for growth after a challenging five years within the construction industry.” The contract confirms Adey Steel’s growing presence in the Rail Sector, one that it plans to continue to focus on as increasing investment is made into the UK national rail infrastructure.
