Adani to double plant capacity

Adani Power will double the power capacity at its Mundra plant to 2000MW by December 2010. The company intends to commission one unit of 330MW in November with the first super critical unit of 660MW commissioned by the end of December. Presently, Adani Power has a power generation capacity of 990MW and from 2011 it plans to add a 660MW plant every quarter. The company also intends to start the first unit of its 3300MW Tiroda (Maharashtra) plant next year. A total investment of INR 82,500 crore will go into the development of these plants, raising the company’s current generation capacity to 16,500MW. Adani Power has also been shortlisted by the Kosovo government as a pre qualified bidder for two coal based power plants with a capacity of 560MW and 678MW.
