ABB has secured a major substation order from Hydro One Networks. The supply deal includes an indoor gas-insulated switchgear substation, an outdoor switchyard with air-insulated switchgear, as well as associated transmission infrastructure. New substation will replace an existing old installation and will serve Canada’s largest city, Toronto. The substations will connect the existing Portlands Energy Center generation station and enhance grid reliability. The project is scheduled to be complete by 2013.
