ABB names Group Account Manager

ABB has named Ingvar Palm as Group Account Manager for Shanghai Baosteel Group Corporation (SBGC) in Pudong, China, the largest manufacturer of steel in China. Palm was formerly global manager for ABB’s Metals Business Unit. His appointment reflects ABB’s key strategy of focusing top management on ABB’s strategic accounts. The good customer relationship between ABB and Baosteel dates back to the early 1980s. Since then, ABB has been selected for 12 large rolling mill projects at SBGC. ABB is the first company of its kind to globally organize around customer industries rather than product lines or geographic regions. With this approach, ABB is closer to the customers to create solutions that directly meet business needs.
