Scoda Tubes Ltd has demonstrated consistent and impressive growth, establishing a strong foothold in the global market for stainless steel seamless and welded tubes and pipes. The company is now poised for a significant milestone with its upcoming listing on the National Stock Exchange of India (NSE), a move expected to secure substantial capital infusion. These funds are strategically allocated for continued investment and expansion, reinforcing Scoda Tubes’ trajectory toward becoming one of India’s premier manufacturers in the sector. Stainless Steel World recently spoke with Company Chairman Mr Samarth Patel to discuss the company’s ambitious expansion strategy and its vision for the future.
By Joanne McIntyre, Stainless Steel World
Since its establishment in 2008, Scoda Tubes Ltd has evolved from a modest tube manufacturer into one of India’s leading producers of stainless steel seamless and welded tubes and pipes. A strategic leadership transition in 2016 marked a turning point, ushering in a period of substantial investment in advanced equipment and technical capabilities. A major milestone was achieved in 2022 with the commissioning of a backward-integrated Hot Piercing Mill, enabling in-house production of mother hollows from hot round bars. This addition significantly enhanced vertical integration and scaled production capacity to 20,000 metric tonnes (MT) of mother hollows per annum.
For the financial year 2025 (ending March 31, 2025), Scoda Tubes sales exceeded USD 56.5 million—a testament to its continued growth and market penetration.
As the company’s global footprint expands, so too does its product portfolio, which includes an extensive range of stainless steel seamless and welded pipes, tubes, and heat exchanger tubes.
Strategic investment & capacity expansion

Company Director Mr Samarth Patel outlines the next phase of growth:
“Currently, we operate 24 production lines—comprising 8 drawing lines and 14 cold pilger mills for seamless tube production, along with 2 tube mills for welded products. In 2025, we will significantly expand this infrastructure to 40 production lines. This includes the addition of 8 new cold pilger mills for seamless pipes and 8 advanced tube mills for welded pipes, with diameters up to 12 inches. This expansion will increase our total production capacity to 33,000 MT per annum.”
Launching on the Stock Exchange
In a significant step forward, Scoda Tubes Ltd is preparing to enter the public market. Mr Patel shared details with Stainless Steel World readers: “Scoda Tubes has submitted all required documentation to SEBI (Securities and Exchange Board of India) and anticipates becoming a publicly listed entity within the next month. Through our Initial Public Offering (IPO), we aim
to raise approximately USD 31.5 million. This capital will play a crucial role in accelerating our expansion plans over the coming years.”
The funds raised will be directed toward a substantial capacity increase – adding 10,000 MT of seamless tube production and 13,000 MT of welded pipe production annually.
In parallel, the company plans to broaden its global product portfolio, targeting new applications and customer segments across international markets. Preparations for this growth phase are already well advanced. Over 50% of the new building infrastructure required to house the additional equipment is now complete. State-of-the-art production machinery is scheduled for delivery in May 2025, and the facility is on track to become fully operational by the third quarter of 2025.
“Our goal is to begin production of seamless pipes on the new lines in Q4 this year,” Mr Patel added. “Once the expansion is finalised, Scoda Tubes will operate a total of 40 production lines for both seamless and welded tubes and pipes.”
Looking ahead, Scoda is exploring options to acquire adjacent land for future development, complementing its current 69,411 m² manufacturing site and laying the groundwork for continued long-term growth.
Product portfolio

Scoda Tubes Ltd offers a comprehensive range of stainless steel tubular products, including:
- Heat exchanger ‘U’ tubes
- Seamless ‘U’ tubes
- Welded pipes and tubes
- Welded ‘U’ tubes
- Instrumentation tubes
The company manufactures stainless steel seamless pipes and tubes with outside diameters ranging from 1/8 inch to 6 inches, wall thicknesses from 0.70 mm to 6 mm, and lengths of up
to 22 metres.
Scoda’s material capabilities span eight core stainless steel grades—from standard 304 up to duplex 32205—with multiple variants available, such as 316L, 316H, and 316Ti. All products
are manufactured to meet leading international standards, including ASTM, ASME, EN, DIN, NF and JIS, ensuring global compatibility and compliance.
Market reach & industry applications
Scoda Tubes serves a diverse and growing global customer base across Europe, North America, South Africa, the Middle East, and its domestic Indian market. With a strong local presence and increasing international demand, the company is well-positioned for continued expansion.
Its wide product offering supports critical applications in industries such as oil and gas, petrochemicals, power generation, pharmaceuticals, and shipbuilding.
While oil and gas continue to be a core sector, Scoda is actively expanding into high-growth markets including the automotive and civil nuclear industries. In alignment with global sustainability goals, the company is also intensifying its focus on the energy transition, supplying tubing solutions for green energy applications—particularly hydrogen infrastructure.
“As we strengthen our sales and marketing efforts in these emerging sectors, we foresee strong demand, especially from the clean energy segment,” notes Mr. Patel.
Sustainability

Sustainability is an increasingly critical focus within the stainless steel industry, and Scoda Tubes is actively advancing initiatives to align with both market expectations and environmental responsibilities.
“Sustainability is a key priority for our customers – particularly in Europe and North America – who are under growing pressure to reduce their carbon footprints,” explains Mr Samarth Patel. “In response, and in line with our own commitment to decarbonisation, we have implemented a series of clean energy investments.”
A major milestone was the commissioning of a 1-megawatt solar power plant, which currently supplies approximately 25% of the company’s total energy demand. To build on this progress, Scoda recently acquired additional land to develop an additional 4 megawatts of solar capacity. Once operational – scheduled for the end of 2025 – this expansion will enable the company to offset 100% of its energy consumption with renewable sources. These efforts reflect Scoda Tubes’ broader strategy to support sustainable manufacturing while meeting the evolving requirements of its global customer base.
