Safran launches a landing gear facility in Morocco

Safran has announced the establishment of a new manufacturing facility for landing-gear equipment within the Casablanca airport zone. This new facility is part of Safran’s strategy to support the ramp-up of Airbus A320 production by deploying a modern, highly efficient manufacturing operation located close to its key strategic markets.

Representing an investment of over 280 million euros, this 26,000 m² (~280,000 sq ft) site will be dedicated to landing systems for short-and medium-haul aircraft and will incorporate two areas of expertise: the manufacture of landing gear components and modules, as well as dedicated hydraulic equipment.

Scheduled for operation in 2029, the facility will ultimately employ nearly 500 skilled workers. A comprehensive training program, developed in partnership with local stakeholders, will support the development of the specialized skills required for the site’s long-term growth.
