ANDRITZ supply acid regeneration plant for Tata Steel

Tata Steel has awarded international technology group ANDRITZ an order to supply an acid regeneration plant for its steel production facility at Port Talbot Works, Wales, UK.
The new plant is designed to meet the highest environmental standards and support the planned capacity expansion of the facility’s pickling line. Commissioning is scheduled for late 2027.
The plant will be capable of regenerating up to 6,340 l/h of waste acid, securing maximum reuse of spent acid in the pickling process and minimizing waste generation.
ANDRITZ’s latest exhaust cleaning technology ensures emission levels well below regulatory limits. The integrated ECOmode function enables significant energy savings, particularly after the capacity expansion, further supporting Tata Steel’s efficiency and sustainability goals.
Advanced process control, a high degree of automation, and modern cyber security features ensure stable, safe, and continuous plant operation.
The scope of supply includes the design and supply of all mechanical and electrical equipment as well as supervision of installation and commissioning.
