QatarEnergy awards EPC contract to Samsung C&T for large-scale CCS project

QatarEnergy has awarded Samsung C&T Corporation the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contract for a major carbon capture and sequestration (CCS) project serving QatarEnergy’s LNG production facilities in Ras Laffan Industrial City.

The project will capture and sequester up to 4.1 million tons of CO₂ per year, making it one of the world’s largest CCS initiatives. This development positions Qatar at the forefront of large-scale carbon capture deployment, reinforcing its leadership in delivering responsible and sustainable energy solutions.
