Alleima’s sustainability targets validated by SBTi

Alleima’s sustainability targets have been reviewed and validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) and are now aligned with the latest climate research. The targets commit Alleima to reducing Scope 1 and 2 CO₂ emissions by more than 54% and Scope 3 emissions by 28% by 2030, using 2019 as the base year. To achieve these goals, the company will focus on technical solutions including electrification, energy efficiency, hydrogen, and biogas.

Alleima’s CO₂ emissions are already relatively low due to the use of recycled materials and electric arc furnaces in steel production. Of the planned 54% reduction by 2030, the company has already achieved a 41% cut (Q3 2025) through fossil-free electricity and biogas. Alleima continues to make steady progress toward its long-term goal of achieving net-zero emissions by 2050.
