Bodycote’s carbon reduction target validated by SBTi

Bodycote, the provider of heat treatment and specialist thermal processing services, announced that the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) has officially validated its upgraded science-based carbon reduction target. This milestone highlights Bodycote’s steadfast commitment to taking decisive action against climate change and driving efficiency across its global operations.

The validation of this enhanced target by SBTi underscores Bodycote’s dedication to aligning with global climate science and raising the bar in its industry for corporate sustainability. The upgraded target builds on Bodycote’s earlier success in reducing its energy use and carbon emissions, committing to a 46% reduction in Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 2030. This new goal represents a significant advancement from the previous target of a 28% reduction by 2030, which was achieved an impressive six years early in 2024.

Through its innovative offerings, Bodycote provides advanced material solutions that address complex challenges, helping customers reduce emissions and meet their decarbonisation goals.
