Jindal set up stainless steel plant in Maharashtra

Jindal Stainless is planning to invest ₹40,000 crore over the next 10 years to establish a state-of-the-art stainless steel manufacturing plant in Maharashtra. The facility will be developed in phases and is expected to have a total melting capacity of 4 million tonnes per annum (MTPA). The first phase is slated to become operational within the next four years.

The upcoming facility will be geared toward producing specialized stainless steel grades for critical and emerging sectors, including hydrogen, nuclear energy, defence, mobility, infrastructure, and process industries.

Additionally, the company is executing a ₹5,400 crore capital expenditure plan aimed at expanding its overall capacity by approximately 40%, taking it to 4.2 MTPA. This also includes enhancing downstream capabilities to produce more value-added products that serve both domestic and export markets.
