Italian shipowner Marnavi Group has recently signed a contract with a shipyard in Zhoushan, China for the construction of two duplex stainless steel chemical tankers. The new buildings are 13,000DWT stainless steel chemical tankers with a total investment of about USD 60M.
The two 13,000 dwt stainless steel chemical tankers will be delivered in late 2026 to early 2027. This is Marnavi Group’s first order in Asia since 2017.
This new order marks the continued investment and expansion of the Marnavi Group in the global shipping market. Domenico Mimmo Ievoli, Chairman of the Marnavi Group, said that this investment reflects the company’s commitment to innovation, quality, and sustainable development.
Currently, the Malnavi Group’s fleet consists of 39 vessels, including several chemical tankers, oil tankers, offshore tugs, platform supply vessels, and environmental equipment. This expansion will further enhance the group’s competitiveness in the global chemical and food transportation markets.
This new order is the return of Italian shipowner Marnavi to the new building market after many years and is of great significance for the renewal of older vessels in its fleet structure.
