The Stainless Steel Industry Awards recognized Acerinox with two bronze medals.
The winner of the Gold Award in Safety category was Bahru Stainless for the project “Smart Safety Zone.”
This initiative improved worker safety through the use of barriers with intelligent sensors, which effectively reduce accidents and injuries thanks to the early detection and reaction to human presence and movements.
North American Stainless received the Bronze Award for the application of “Ergonomic aids for heavy lifting”.
The Gold Award went to Acerinox Europe for its “Waste Water Reuse Project,” which helped to combat the devastating effects of droughts. Acerinox Europe has made great efforts to find ways to better manage water and reduce the company’s water footprint. With this project, its water consumption has decreased by a significant initial 400m³ per week.
Bahru Stainless also received the bronze medal for its project “Annealing Furnace Revamping for Gas Saving”.
