BUTTING makes a major investment in BuBi® production

At the beginning of the 1990s, BUTTING developed the mechanically clad BUTTING bi-metal pipe – the BuBi® pipe for short. Since then, this pipe has impressed numerous customers worldwide. As demand grows steadily, BUTTING is making a major investment in expanding its production capacity.

Against this background, BUTTING has taken the expectations of customers and the market into account and will make a substantial investment in the coming years in order to significantly expand production capacities for BuBi® pipes.

So far BUTTING has a 12-m hydroforming press in which a corrosion-resistant stainless steel BUTTING pipe and a carbon-manganese steel pipe are mechanically connected to make a BuBi® pipe. On average, about 15 km in medium BuBi® pipe sizes can currently be produced per month.

BUTTING’s long-term objective is to double monthly capacities. The construction of a new hall and the associated adjustments to the processes are intended to further optimize production processes and increase productivity.

In addition, a new 12-m hydroforming press has been planned together with a mechanical engineering company and commissioned for production.
