Heerema Marine Contractors has appointed Koos-Jan van Brouwershaven as Chief Executive Officer recently and Mr Wijnand Tutuarima will join the Board of Heerema Marine Contractors as Chief Financial Officer, therewith strengthening the HMC one-tier Board presently consisting of Pieter Heerema (chairman), Nico Pronk and Saskia Rijtema.
Koos-Jan van Brouwershaven has joined Heerema Marine Contractors (HMC) from sister company Heerema Fabrication Group (HFG) where he has worked as Chief Executive Officer since 2013. He will remain CEO of HFG as well.
Mr van Brouwershaven started his career as a trainee at Heerema Offshore Services in 1986 and then joined Genius Offshore Services as a Field Engineer on a project in the Red Sea in Egypt. After holding management positions in the offshore industry he moved to mining company Harsco Metals & Minerals. In 2005 Mr van Brouwershaven was appointed as managing director of the company in South Africa where he was responsible for 13 of Harsco’s sites.
Wijnand Tutuarima joined the company in 2013. Prior to this appointment he was Senior Vice President Finance at HMC as well as a member of the management team of the company.
His career started in 1995 at the Global Shipping Group with Fortis MeesPierson where he was commercially responsible for the client portfolios in Central Europe and subsequently Asia, holding positions in Rotterdam and Singapore. In 2005, Wijnand Tutuarima moved to Fortis Commercial Banking focusing on the development of the international network and setting up 5 new branches in Scandinavia and Asia.
