Transforming the water from reservoirs, for human consumption, complying with the requirements of current legislation, is the most important mission carried out in drinking water treatment stations.
Drinking water must not contain any type of microorganism, parasite or substance, in an amount or concentration that could pose a risk to human health, therefore a drinking water treatment plant (DWTP) has to follow a sequence of operations such as pretreatment, coagulation-flocculation, decanting, filtration, and disinfection.
All the pipes, filters, tanks, etc., which are used in water plants, are made from stainless steel. The metal is chosen for its mechanical properties, corrosion resistance, easy cleaning, aesthetic appearance, and is 100% recyclable, which makes it essential for this type of applications.
Aweco Indosteel Perkas PT carried out an engineering project for Cargill Indonesia, an international producer and supplier of food products, in the construction of its second starch and sweeteners plant in Cikande, West of Java. The project included manufacturing of stainless steel water treatment tanks with AISI 304, AISI 304L and AISI 316L 2B finish, manufactured and supplied by Bahru Stainlesss Sdn Bhd.
