A new product area called additive manufacturing has recently been formed within Sandvik Machining Solutions’ business area. The foundation for the new product area is the current additive manufacturing center in Sandviken, Sweden that today is part of R&D at Sandvik Coromant product area.
With this change, additive manufacturing within Sandvik is moving from a mainly internal purpose into external business of metal additive manufacturing. The business will have full profit and loss responsibility and will take a step-by-step position on the market by organic growth as well as through acquisitions. In addition, the additive manufacturing and development performed for internal purposes in cooperation with the other product areas within Sandvik Machining Solutions will continue.
