ISSF: Q1 2015 stainless steel production is 10.4 Mmt

The International Stainless Steel Forum (ISSF) has released figures for the Q1 2015 suggesting that 10.4 Million Metric Tons (Mmt) stainless steel melt shop production was at the same level year–on–year(y-o-y).

In Western Europe/Africa there was 24.8% hike in quarter-on- quarter (q-o-q) production and 7.3% decline in y-o-y production. In Central/Eastern Europe, there was 0.8% hike in the (q-o-q) production and -9.6% decline in y-o-y production. In Americas and Asia (without China), there was 7.2% and 14.2% hike in q-o-q production and 14.7% and 6% hike in y-o-y production. In China, the q-o-q production declined by 1% and y-o-y production declined by 0.1%.
