Nordex wins new contract in Lithuania

Nordex has received a further contract from Lithuania for the ‘Mazeikiai’ project located in the north-west of the country, close to the town of the same name. Nordex will be supplying and installing 19 N117/2400 turbines. Also included is a premium service contract covering a minimum period of 15 years. Work on installing the turbines, which will be mounted on 120m towers, is to commence in spring 2015. The wind farm will have an above-average capacity factor of a good 37%.

The customer is UAB Pamario jegainiu energija, a company owned by Lithuania-based Orion Alternative Energy Fund and Dutch company Energy Investment Fund. “This second sales success within a short space of time impressively testifies to the vitality of the Lithuanian market. Working with our customers, we want to help the country to diversify its energy production base by expanding local wind power productionâ€?, says Nordex Management Board Member Lars Bondo Krogsgaard. The wind farm will be supplying up to 75,000 households in the region with clean electricity.
