BG Brasil celebrated 20 years of history in 2014. Over the last 20 years, the company has grown with Brazil and is now among the leading private oil and gas producers in the country. It has achieved record production of 100,000 barrels of oil equivalent a day, only counting BG Brasil’s share in the pre-salt exploration blocks operated by Petrobras in the Santos Basin.

The company has made considerable social investments, including scientific education programmes in public schools, in addition to investing in research and development initiatives through partnerships with Brazilian universities and companies, to generate technological innovation to help meet the industry’s challenges and secure even better results for the country.
The company has invested over USD 8B since 1994, and currently plans to invest around USD 3B a year. Its presence in the Barreirinhas Basin, as a result of acquiring 10 blocks as operator in 2013, further enhances the company’s investment in Brazil.
