This new component adds up to the existing range of clamps already forged by Manoir Bouzonville, used for research and production of oil and gas, in surface and subsea environments up to 3000m depth. Closed-die forging process allows customers to obtain optimal mechanical characteristics to ensure long life of the equipment, while limiting requirement for machining, as Manoir Bouzonville closed-die technology enables a forging profile close to customer final product profile.
Manoir Bouzonville forges its largest clamps
Manoir Bouzonville has recently forged clamps that are amongst the largest components ever produced in its closed-die forging shop. These parts, forged in AISI4130 material (30DC4), weigh over 600kg for a length of 1.3m and have been produced for a leading manufacturer of clamp connectors. They will be used to connect pipes under pressure (up to 4000 bars) as well as mechanical stress in both axial and radial directions.
