Zaporozhstal boosts industrial safety investments

Zaporozhstal Steel Works plans to invest EUR 750,000 to improve labour conditions and industrial safety. The planned investments would be channelled to reduce factors adversely affecting workplaces. This includes EUR 230,000 for creation of optimum temperature conditions, which involves purchasing of industrial and room air conditioners, exhaust ventilation system and plenum air conditioning. EUR 180,000 would be invested for improving air pollution control and ensuring of gas safety, and involves purchasing gas analysers, gas-proof equipment and automobile for gas safety station. EUR 350,000 is planned to be channelised for ensuring fire safety, in particular, for purchasing and installing automatic fire extinguishing systems, fire alarm systems in the main shops of the Steel Works.
Activities of Zaporozhstal Steel Works in the field of labour protection, and industrial safety are as per OHSAS 18001:2007 standards. “The issue of life, health and ecology has a top priority for us. All investments into production safety are necessary investments, but investments that will be generously repaid“, pointed out Rostyslav Shurma, general director of Zaporozhstal Steel Works.
