Steel Dynamics reduces costs in supply chain

In addition to industry-standard thickness plate, Steel Dynamics is now stocking some unusual thicknesses, including 16mm, 18mm, 22mm, 28mm and 32mm thick plates across 3 grades of material: 304, 316 and Duplex UNS31803. Steel Dynamics saw an opportunity in the market to try to reduce costs to its customers by stocking these unusual non-standard thicknesses. Machine shops and flange manufacturers regularly take thicker plate and machine down. The introduction of this non-standard range will enable those customers to save both time and money for the ultimate part being manufactured.
