Recently established Steel Dynamics will be opening its doors to business at the beginning of September. Company directors, Daniel McKinley and Robert Pattenden said to Stainless Steel World: “It’s long been our ambition to bring a very focused, service orientated, and dynamically different company to the steel industry. Our mission statement will be to: ‘Re-Define service through superior technology, cost and culture.’ It’s a very clear and concise mission statement and is something by which our customers, employees and suppliers can see what we are about and what we wish to achieve, and even more importantly what we expect.”
Steel Dynamics will be a stockholder and processor of stainless steels, duplex, and nickel alloys supplying the oil & gas, petrochemical, pharmaceutical, nuclear, general fabrication, heat exchanger, filtration equipment, and architectural sectors, amongst others. They will be headquartered in Bolton, Lancashire, UK.
With some 40,000 square foot of warehousing, a state-of-the-art Bystronic laser, ESAB HD plasma cutter, coupled with a broad spectrum of stock and their unique business operating system, they are well positioned to bring that mission to life.
Whilst starting out in the UK they soon hope to be servicing Europe as well. Mr. Pattenden: “It is not the easiest time to start up a business but we have already had a lot of interest from a number of different companies who want to use our services. Our equipment is excellent and we intend to make services, which traditionally are not the best in the steel stockholding and supply industry, something special. We have implemented a series of different internal processes with our new computer system, which will streamline the way that we supply profile steel plates. We are confident that this particular software will drastically reduce lead times in the industry. This together with a powerful team of enthusiastic and knowledgeable staff will ensure that we will successfully set out our roadmap to achieve sustainable, quality growth.
