Parker wins subsea power cable contract

The Energy Products Division (EPD) of Parker Hannifin Corporation, the leader in motion and control technologies, has been awarded a contract by Statoil. The scope of the agreement is for 11,500m of subsea cable and cable accessories for the Valemon Field Development Project.

The order encompasses design, production and delivery of a 24kV subsea power cable with built in fiber optic communication lines. The main cable under this agreement will be installed between the existing Kvitebjørn platform and the new Valemon platform.

The cable is to be installed in water depths between 130 and 200m, and will supply all power and communication to the normally unmanned Valemon platform. Award of the Valemon project follows the successful manufacturing and delivery of the umbilical for the Smørbukk field to Statoil in June 2011.
