PROTESA wins contract for 2nd largest desal plant

PROTESA has received a contract to supply and install GRP piping for the Sorek plant in Israel, currently the world’s second largest desalination plant. As per the contract, PROTESA’s scope of supply includes the design, manufacture, installation and related engineering services for GRP (Glass Fiber Reinforced Polyester) piping and fittings, with a total pipe length of 2900m in diameters ranging from 25 to 2200mm. Using Reverse Osmosis technology, the plant will reach a capacity of 510,000m3/day, which, once the project is completed, will cater for 65% of Israel’s drinking water consumption. This project is being led by the Sorek Desalination Partnership- formed by IDE Technologies and Hutchison Water International Holdings Pte.
