Magellan to expand Houston-Area oil pipeline

Magellan Midstream Partners, L.P. (MMP) will further expand its crude oil pipeline distribution capabilities in the Houston area to deliver domestic crude oil and condensate transported via third-party pipeline systems from the Eagle Ford Shale production area directly to local refineries. The project consists of constructing a 6mi, 24in diameter crude oil pipeline between the pipeline interchanges of Genoa Junction and Speed Junction, which will connect to the 24in diameter crude oil pipeline along the Houston Ship Channel. This will allow Magellan to further distribute product to the Houston-area refineries. This project, which is supported by a long-term customer commitment, is scheduled to be operational by the end of 2012.
