Gas-fired power stations

TRUenergy is seeking development approval to construct two gas-fired power stations with an investment of AUD 400 million in Queensland. The new Blackstone Power Station will be built in Ipswich, close to the Swanbank B coal-fired power station, which is due to cease operations in the first half of 2012.

The second unit, Aldoga Power Station, will be built in the Gladstone State Development Area. At full capacity, each power station would represent an investment of up to AUD 1.8 billion. Work on the stations is scheduled to commence as early as 2013, subject to the receipt of all permitting and development approvals.
