Russia implements duty on some stainless

Russia has implemented a three year, anti dumping import duty on various flat rolled steel from South Africa, Korea, Brazil and China. The duties will apply to flat rolled steel containing 2.5% of nickel or more. Duty is set at 39.1% for Chinese producers excluding Shanxi Taigang Stainless Steel, at 62.8% for Korean companies excluding POSCO, at 21.1% for Brazilian corporations and 33.3% for South African producers. Shanxi Taigang Stainless Steel and POSCO will be charged 29.9% and 4.8% respectively. The decree was signed on 23 November 2010 and will come into effect one month after publication in the government gazette.
