Hatch iron ore project

Magnitogorsk Iron & Steel contracted Hatch Engineering & Consulting to conduct pre-project development of the Prioskolskoye iron ore field. With reserves estimated at 2 billion tons, Hatch Engineering will identify the most efficient development method for Prioskolskoye via conduct probes and surveys. The company will provide a solution that ensures minimal land allotment costs, eliminates environmental risks while optimizing MMK’s capital and operating costs. Hatch will also be responsible for drafting engineering documentation up until a construction permit is received. Following the effective date of the contract, the company will have six months to accomplish the job. Located in the Belgorod region, in southwestern Russia, the mine has a capacity of 25 million tpy, covering MMK’s iron ore requirements for 60 years.
