Victoria has approved two planning permits for a USD 326 million wind energy facility in Ararat. Housing 75 wind generators, The Ararat Wind Energy Facility will produce 247.5MW of power, serving 135,000 homes. Community concerns regarding potential landscape, visual amenity and environmental impacts have been addressed and appropriate conditions have been placed on the planning permits, particularly landscape and flora and fauna issues.
