India: biomass power plants

Shriram EPC’s subsidiary Oriental Green Power (OGP) has engaged in renewable energy generation plans to invest INR 730 crore for setting up biomass-based power plants. The company will fund the project through a debt: equity ratio of 70: 30. OGP expects to set up 146MW plants each MW entailing an investment of INR 5 crore. Most of these are likely to be ready by December 2010.
