Malaysia: stainless Bahru plant

The ceremony to lay the foundation stone of the future factory Stainless Bahru took place on 16 March 2009 took place in Johor Bahru, Malaysia. Stainless Bahru is a subsidiary of Grupo Acerinox, which has also participated in Nisshin Steel and Metal One. The project in its final stage will be an integrated stainless steel mill with a capacity of 1 million tonnes in steel capacity of 600,000tns of cold rolling. The final investment is USD 1500 million. The first phase of the investment worth USD 320 million, which now begins construction, is a cold rolling mill and finishing with a first cold rolling lines and Sendzimir process. The workshop will begin its operation finished this year while the cold rolling mill will do at the end of 2010.
